Reporter: I have a question to Robert and to Scarlett. Firstly to Robert, throughout Iron Man 1 and 2, Tony Stark started off as a very egotistical character but learns how to fight as a team. And so how did you approach this role, bearing in mind that kind of maturity as a human being when it comes to the Tony Stark character, and did you learn anything throughout the three movies that you made?
And to Scarlett, to get into shape for Black Widow did you have anything special to do in terms of the diet, like did you have to eat any specific food, or that sort of thing?
Scarlett: How come you get the really interesting existential question, and I get the like, “rabbit food” question?
The respect given to you if you’re a man in the entertainment business, and the respect given to you if you’re a woman in the entertainment business: all perfectly summed up in one idiotically thought out line of questioning.

You know, I always did like Scarlett Johannson.

Dat side-eye.

Let me just hug you forever Miss Johannson.

Scarlett Johansson gives the best side-eye.

“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief…and unspeakable love.” — Washington Irving (via perfectpersoninprogress)

woah. terrifying.

I’ve had dreams that ended in a giant wave coming toward me. And then I woke up.
It was very unpleasant.

First draft is complete.

It just took me 6 months and 11 days (194 days), 230 pages, and 125,216 words. Also a hell of a lot of blood, sweat, and tears (oh the tears!)

No biggie.

This might be one of my best yet - it’s the one I’m the most proud of and my self-proclaimed “best love story I’ve ever written.”

I’m gong to take a break before Book Two. And by break, I mean begin planning/outlining/deciding everything before I start writing.

(PS: Kate, remember that crazy outlining I was doing last year? Yeah. I didn’t even use one sentence of that in my story. It’s all for Book Two, mostly for Book Three. Isn’t outlining fantastic?)

I’m not seriously considering it but this would be a cool tattoo to have, especially given my intense love/admiration for this amazing show. I will NEVER tire of it.

I have a newfound respect for Joe Biden when he addressed the families of fallen soldiers.

Vice President Joe Biden…recounted the agonizing experience of losing his first wife and daughter in a car crash in 1972.

Biden was so distraught in the wake of the accident that he even admitted pondering thoughts of suicide, he told families of fallen troops.

“It was the first time in my career, in my life, I realized someone could go out — and I probably shouldn’t say this with the press here, but no, but it’s more important, you’re more important. For the first time in my life, I understood how someone could consciously decide to commit suicide. Not because they were deranged, not because they were nuts, because they had been to the top of the mountain, and they just knew in their heart they would never get there again. That’s how an awful lot of you feel.

Biden then gave a painful account of the day of the incident, which took place just weeks before his swearing in as a first-term U.S. senator.

“I was down in Washington hiring my staff and I got a phone call, saying that my family had been in an accident,” he said. “And just like you guys know by the tone of the phone call, you just knew. You knew when they walked up the path. You knew when the call came. You knew. You just felt it in your bones: Something bad happened. And I knew — I don’t know how I knew, but the caller said my wife is dead. My daughter is dead. And I wasn’t sure how my sons were going to make it.”

After completing his own chronicle of grief and dealing with tragedy, the vice president ended on a positive note, encouraging listeners to stay strong and understand that the darkness cast by the death of a loved one will lift.

“Folks, it can and will get better. There will come a day — I promise you, and your parents as well — when the thought of your son or daughter, or your husband or wife, brings a smile to your lips before it brings a tear to your eye. It will happen.”

He then commented that his current wife, Dr. Jill Biden, whom he met five years following the accident saved his life.
